RIDGE SPRING FIRE DEPARTMENT BENEFIT
In Memory of MICHAEL B. ADAMICK: The Annual
Ridge Spring Volunteer Fire Department’s Benefit had a great turn out from the
local community as well as family and friends of Mike Adamick from
Connecticut. This event has grown over
the years and is their only fundraiser. The food was fantastic and the music was
superb. The auction was lively and
swift. There were so many really nice
things to bid on. It was a huge success. They collected in excess of $10,000.00
The
Friends of Ridge Spring will meet May 15 at the library at 5:00 PM. This week we will be receiving grant money
and bags for the Farmers’ Market from AgSouth who also donated to the Firemen’s
Benefit.
Jerusalem Baptist Church will have its Mother's Day program Sunday, May 11th at
10:15. The speaker for the occasion will be Mrs. Mary Mason.
The public is invited as we celebrate mothers.

farm. You can also see photos of past shows and detailed directions…Word of
warning, the GPS does not bring you here!!!
There is no entry fee so please just come and enjoy the farm, and the
town of Ridge Spring….Bev and Gretchen Arndt *PS Coffee will be on compliments
of the farm.
From Bev, a Ridge Spring school
grandmother: I feel privileged to have been at the concert last night...
The band did an excellent job, along with the chorus. What an incredible music
teacher to let the children plan the program using music that was relevant to
them. In my mind it was meeting the children where they are and most certainly
a teachable moment for all of us. Yes, Ms Hughes you are right...What we need
is LOVE!!!
Harriet’s
Garden has 7 varieties of tomatoes growing
out of their pots. Come check them
out. Open Monday and Thursday through
Saturday or by appointment.

Day and ways to take care of our planet. They toured Hopeland Gardens and
recorded their findings during the tour. The children, teachers, and chaperones
all enjoyed being outdoors and learning all about the different plants in our
area. They had a great day and would like to send a big thank you to all the chaperones
that helped on this trip!
Fundraisers
We will be holding two fundraisers in May.
On May 12, students can attend a Faculty/Staff Olympics. On May 26, students can
attend a Faculty/Staff Talent or No Talent Show. Admission for each event will be

Personal Notes:
I am enjoying Facebook more and
more. Check out Juniper for they have a
family that will not leave the restaurant.
It is a family of birds that are nesting in the front of the building. The popularity of the restaurant is
amazing. Dixie Bell Peaches in Ridge
Spring may be open for a week later in June and then maybe some more in
July. The peach crop has really been
hurt this year. I have iris blooming
later than they have in a long time.
They also look great. My old
fashion roses are in full bloom. They
were old when received the place from my mother and turned it into Harriet’s
Garden for my father had planted them in 1956 until 1968 and then Pappy had
planted more in the late 70s. Come by
and walk around, no charge.
