RIDGE SPRING FIRE DEPARTMENT BENEFIT
In Memory of MICHAEL B. ADAMICK: The Annual
Ridge Spring Volunteer Fire Department’s Benefit has always had a great turn
out from the local community as well as family and friends of Mike
Adamick from Connecticut. This
event has grown over the years and is their only fundraiser. The success of the
benefit determines what the Fire Department can and cannot purchase over the
next year. Auction items will be accepted right up to the start of the auction
at 6:00. Of
course cash donations are always welcome too. Don't forget the delicious BBQ
plates, bake sale and street dance with Steele Justice - this event is a
win-win!!!
FIRE DEPARTMENT
AUXILIARY BAKE SALE: Donations are needed for the bake
sale in conjunction with the Fire Dept. Benefit. This is a great way to
support the volunteers that work so hard and everyone loves fresh baked
homemade goodies. Baked goods can be dropped off at the Fire Dept. after 10
a.m. on Sat., May 3rd.
Harriet’s
Garden has 7 varieties of tomatoes growing
out of their pots. Come check them
out. Open Monday and Thursday through
Saturday or by appointment.
RIDGE ANTIQUES & DRY GOODS has
some sad news and some glad news. Bob and Jim have sold the
shop and will be moving out on June 30. The good news is that Denise Covington, a
former partner, has purchased the shop and will continue operating it as an
antique and collectibles store. Many of you will remember Denise.
She was Mary Ann Desiders' partner before Jim.
Bob and Jim eventually will be moving back to Florida so during May and June, they will be offering some great deals in order to reduce their inventory. They both will miss all of their customers who have also become friends. Come out for all the bargains. Our fine dealers are offering great items at tempting prices. Try to get by before the end of June to say your goodbyes to Bob and Jim.

Grade Field Trip:
The 4th grade class of RSM went on an adventurous field trip to Charleston,
S.C. on Friday, April 4th. They traveled to the coast in charter buses making
their way to the S.C. Aquarium and to Fort Sumter. They learned about the
habitats and environments of different organisms. They were also able to touch
some sea creatures, such as a sea urchin and a sting ray! After lunch, they
made their way to
Patriot's Point where they boarded a
ferryboat to Fort Sumter. They toured Fort Sumter and learned about the
beginning of the Civil War. They had a blast and will definitely not forget
this day too soon!
