Ridge Spring News
We had a wonderful trip. The cities were huge, the monuments were
really there and very impressive, the history is everywhere and I am glad I
went. My father was stationed in Goeppingen,
Germany at Cooke Barracks from 1959 to 1962.
My mother and I joined him. With
the help of my daughter Melissa Senf and my granddaughter Alena, we went back
to what had been Cooke Barracks. I
recognized the school, the church and other areas that had been remodeled and
renovated. Two of the streets was named
John F. Kennedy Ave and Martin Luther King Ave.
I realized that when we were there he was president and neither man had
been assassinated. Fond memories abound.
Then we were off to tour other cities including Reims and Paris, France
and then London, England. There was so
much to see and to do for all of us. We
truly were ready to come home though.
Returning to the South during the spring is a beautiful time for all of
us, even those who have allergies. At
least they can look through the windows to see the beauty. I am glad to be back home with Bob, my
family, and my friends.
Now back to the Ridge Spring News:

Big Red Box is coming
‘filled to the brim’ and a big thank you to some Big Red Box food angels. The
swing on the front porch of the Family Life Center was FULL of non perishable
food items and will help tremendously with this month’s drive. Food this month
goes to the Food Bank located at Helpful Hands Ministry (local food bank). If
you would like to help, leave donations on the porch and a church member will
see that they make into the BRB! Let’s work together to make sure none of our
neighbors goes hungry.
Don’t forget the
prayer box is located on the porch of the FLC. The box is checked and requests
placed on the Sunday service pray list.

Now that I am back Harriet’s Garden

from seed were so tall that we skipped a step and they are now in gallon
pots. I have 9 varieties and have
already sold some. The weeds have taken
over, but the old fashion roses are about to burst into bloom. Come by and
check the m out in the next couple of weeks.
